97°West Adds New Talent to Its Ranks

AUSTIN, TX, January 23, 2012 — 97°West, a leading marketing, advertising and design firm, is pleased to announce the addition of two key staff members. Both will lend their talents across the firm’s broad spectrum of clients.

Marta Masferrer joins the firm as project coordinator. Masferrer, who recently completed her MFA in Film at Columbia University, has an impressive background in multi-platform content creation, including a two year position as project coordinator and producer at Sandbox Hero, an Austin-based video production company.  Before that, she had stints at Viacom, WNBC-TV’s “Weekend Today Show,” Columbia University’s Office of Public Affairs and the Miami International Film Festival.  In 2004, Masferrer launched her own production company, Swandive Films, where she wrote, directed and edited TV, film and web-based content for clients such as MTV/Viacom, SONY Entertainment, ANIMAX and MoveOn.org.

Stacy Edwards joins 97°West as market researcher.  She brings an impressive variety of social media experience to the firm, having worked in that space in both Austin and New York City.  Most recently, she served as project manager and social media strategist at Archetype Brands.  She has also had stints with Yelp and Sheepless magazine in Austin.  In 2009, she founded the NYU Wagner Food Policy Alliance.  She is currently wrapping up her Master’s degree at New York University in Public and Nonprofit Management and Policy.

97ºWest Brands the World’s Smallest Food Truck

AUSTIN, TX, October 20, 2011— VERTS, (www.vertskebap.com), an Austin-based fast casual restaurant concept, has begun offering mobile food services from what is conceived to be the world’s smallest custom built food truck, branded with creative that was concepted and designed by Austin advertising agency 97 Degrees West.

Based on the German built Smart® Car, the truck serves VERTS Berlin-Inspired Döner Kebaps at various Austin hotspots, festivals, events and corporate catering. 97 Degrees West has handled branding for the retail locations, marketing campaign and Smart® Car graphics.

“Our concept was to leverage German precision with a Berlin inspired “street attitude” resulting in a creative campaign that would resonate in the cluttered Austin fast casual dining market,” according to Vera Fischer, President and Founder of 97 Degrees West.” We knew we had an amazing opportunity when VERTS told us they were building the world’s smallest food truck and creatively we nailed it with the wow factor.”

Founded by Michael Heyne and Dominik Stein, German students who came to Austin at the University of Texas, VERTS is committed to introducing the favorite German street food, the Döner Kebap, to Austin. At VERTS, the Döner Kebap is founded on handmade artisan bread baked fresh daily, hand-stacked beef, lamb and chicken, traditional Turkish seasoning, and Texan inspired homemade sauces.

Former State Rep. Patrick Rose’s New Firm, Corridor Title Signs with 97ºWest

campus2careers Taps 97º West to Brand its Entry-level Job & Internship Site
